Bryana Salaz, Sugar Joans both make live playoffs on The Voice

The pairing seemed a bit strange: Bryana Salaz, a 16-year-old aspiring pop singer, against the soulful style of 24-year-old Sugar Joans.

But their knockout round match worked out just fine for both artists.

Bryana, showing nary a hint of nerves on stage in spite of her youth, belted out “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato and was declared the winner, meaning she’ll advance to the live playoffs with Team Gwen.

Sugar sang Beyonce’s “Love on Top” so well, she had Pharrell Williams on his feet early in her performance. And as soon as Bryana was named the winner, he swooped in and used his only knockout round save to add her to his team.

That means both singers will appear in the live playoffs, to be aired in two weeks on NBC.

Here are photos of their knockout round performances, as provided by NBC.
