Sugar Joans continued her string of strong pop releases on Friday. New post-Voice releases also include tracks featuring Jake Barker, Cheesa and Joe Kirk.

Here’s a bit about each of those releases.

Sugar Joans from Season 7 released “Perfect,” which she describes as a carefree summer love song, on Friday. The track features an assist from Los Angeles rapper Hugh Augustine, an artist Joans has known since 2012 and knew she’d collaborate with at some point. “This song is about the beginning of a relationship fairytale honeymoon moment. It reminds people to focus on the things that are perfect about your partner, not their imperfections,” she says in a press release about the new single.

Jake Barker from Season 6 has collaborated with producer R!ot on their second mini-EP of 2020. This one is called “All Night in Brooklyn,” after one of the three tracks on the project. The other songs are “Ride” and “Right Now.” A video for the latter is on the way as well. R!ot and Jack collaborated on a four-song project called “Hopeless” that was released back in February.

Joe Kirk from Season 7 is featured on “Joker,” a single released Friday by friend Dylan Williams. Joe’s also celebrating more than 350,000 Spotify streams of “Let This Go,” a song he released in 2018 that he calls his all-time favorite.

Cheesa from Season 2 is the featured singer on a haunting new cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” courtesy of District 78. It’s the latest in a series of covers she’s done with the production team, which has seen its music used on “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” Cheesa was also featured last month on Voyage LA.
