Artists are doing their best to help keep spirits high during the nearly nationwide coronavirus lockdown.

Nelly’s Echo, Gina Zo, Sugar Joans and Davina Leone — all of whom we met on The Voice — referenced the current crisis when they released their new singles.

Here’s a look at each of those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.

* Nelly’s Echo from Season 3 said he planned to release the feel-good single “Somebody Loves You” this summer. “However, with all the pain and unrest our world is currently experiencing, I felt it necessary to do my part to drop a positive song about love, harmony and community.” Better yet, the feel-good song is accompanied by a feel-good music video.

* Gina Zo from Season 10 is back, collaborating with Mike Nappi on a single called “Life Goes On.” She was Gina Castanzo on the show, shortened her stage name after and released lots of music through early 2018. But this is her first release since. On social media, Gina says she “got drained of doing music … With that, I believe it is now better than ever to be putting out a song that can speak to you in times like these. Get up, getting going, and go on!”

* Sugar Joans from Season 7 released a single Friday called “Gentle” and writes on social media that she considers it especially timely because of what the world’s going through right now. “I wrote this song about a time that I was learning to love myself in my darkest moments. I pulled myself out of destructive behaviors by learning to love myself instead of being my own worst critic … I keep reminding myself to be gentle with myself every single day in isolation. I hope it makes some of you feel better and at peace.”

* Davina Leone from Season 12 recently released a catchy pop single called “On Me.” Head to her Instagram and you can also check out the “quarantine video” she made to accompany the song. The release is the first of 2020 for Davina, who’s released a pair of EPs — “Knowing” and “647” — since the show.
