Former The Voice champ Cassadee Pope released her new single Friday.

Cassadee Pope released a new single called “One More Red Light” on Friday.

It’s an upbeat song about a blossoming romance and the second single this year from the Season 3 winner of The Voice.

Cassadee wrote the song with Kelly Archer and Emily Shackelton, the same team that wrote her 2016 single “Summer.”

On an All Our Favorite People podcast, Cassadee said her intent was to write “a fun love song” about the feeling one experience’s when getting to know someone special.

“The first few weeks of being with somebody,” she explained. “Not being ready to take the full plunge, but just being like, ‘I don’t want this date to end though.

“‘Let’s take the long way home. Let’s find some yellow lights and just take our time getting to know each other.’ That’s kind of my idea, and wanting to say it from the woman’s perspective.”

“One More Red Light” follows “Take Me Home,” released in March. And during the podcast, Cassadee says she has “a batch” of unreleased songs ready for her second country album.

Cassadee’s post-Voice debut “Frame by Frame” was one of the most successful since the show began and yielded a Top 10 country hit, “Wasting All These Tears.”

Cassadee has yet to repeat that feat as a solo artist, but earlier this year became the first-ever Voice contestant to earn a Grammy nomination. It came for her “Think of You” duet with Chris Young, which hit number one on the country singles chart.

Here’s “One More Red Light.”
