Cory Jackson is the Season 17 contestant on The Voice who got married to his wife Sarah the same week he auditioned.
Both went off without a hitch, judging from the photos on Cory’s Instagram, which include one of him singing at the ceremony.
On The Voice, Cory turned three chairs with his cover of Glen Campbell’s “Galveston” and landed a spot on Team Blake.
And while Cory was eliminated from the show in a Team Blake Shelton battle round match that aired last week, he’s eager to get new music out to his fans, old and new.
How eager?
He has a new single coming out in mid-November.
Here’s what Cory, 24, of Jonesboro, Ark., told Voice Views about his time on the show and that new single.
Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway/lesson learned from The Voice experience?
Cory: What I consider as my biggest takeaway/lesson learned from The Voice experience would be just enjoying times like this and being myself. I learned so much that I will take with me and use it forever, but just being myself and staying relaxed, especially on camera and for interviews, because it can be nerve-racking. I learned how to relax and have fun with it while I was there!
Voice Views: The battles were filmed over the summer. What have you been doing musically since then and where are you hoping The Voice experience leads?
Cory: Since then, I have been playing a lot of shows and doing a lot of songwriting. I am hoping The Voice leads me to the next level in the industry. No matter what happens, though, I will keep pushing forward and chasing this dream of mine. I really believe in it, and I am thankful so many people all over the world do as well. I am so thankful to have been a part of this season of The Voice! It has been a true blessing!
Voice Views: Do you plan to release new music anytime soon? If so, can you tell me about that — what you’re planning, what fans can expect in terms of sound and the timetable for doing?
Cory: I do! I will be releasing new music in mid-November!! I couldn’t be more excited!! It’s a song that really fits this time of the year and talks about a man that lost the love of his life because of his passion for chasing his dream as a musician. Throughout the song, he’s thinking about their time together and praying she’ll forgive him.
There will be a music video to follow a few weeks after the song is released. HOWEVER, I am so excited to announce I will be giving it away for free to all my fans because I cannot thank them enough for all their support!! To get it for free, be sure to sign up for my fan club at https://www.coryjacksonmusic.com/ and it will be sent out to my fans for free on the release day which is coming soon! (cough cough maybe November 14th or 15th). Be on the lookout for “Forgive Me Anyway”!
Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?
Cory: I had the absolute time of my life being on Season 17 of The Voice! I have made so many new friends through this process which could not be better! I think (battle round partner) Zach (Bridges) and I might have to work on our duo stuff soon as well! I have to thank everyone out there for all their support. This means the world to me.
