Emily Ann Roberts, a Season 9 finalist on The Voice, has released Someday Dream, her new country single.

Former The Voice runner-up Emily Ann Roberts released her third country single Friday.

It’s called “Someday Dream,” and Emily says “it’s a song that I’m beyond excited about because it encourages everyone to follow their biggest dreams.

“I want my career to show that if a simple girl from Knoxville, Tenn., can live her dreams then everyone else can to.”

Emily Ann auditioned for The Voice at age 16 and wound up finishing second behind Jordan Smith in Season 9.

After the end of the show, she doubled up on high school classes so she could graduate early, head to Nashville and start working toward a post-Voice career, she says in her website bio.

That was in the winter of 2015-16. Since then, she’s played the Grand Ole Opry and participated in a tour called “The Gospel Through Girls and Guitars.”

But she didn’t release her debut single (“Stuck On You + Me”) until last fall, more than three years after her Voice journey began to air. She followed it up with the excellent “I’ve Got Forever” in late October.

Emily Ann admits “it felt like I was waiting forever to release my original music,” but adds: “I’m so thankful I took my time. I wanted to make sure that my first releases were songs that I was proud of and that represented me 100%.”

She’s also doing a lot of performing, opening for Scotty McCreery and Sara Evans at shows earlier this month. And she has a number of shows coming up in the southeast.

Here’s “Someday Dream.” And for more of what Emily Ann has to say about pursuing dreams and overcoming her own self-doubts, head to this Instagram post.
