Former Voice contestant Clinton Washington delivers on debut EP

off The Voice, Clinton Washington launched a Pledge Music campaign to fund a debut EP over the summer.

The campaign was a success, and Clinton delivered the results — an impressive self-titled, seven-track pop EP last week.

The EP begins with the ridiculously catchy “Hearts Beat Loud.” Also be sure to check out “Empire,” another fine pop song, and “Burn it Down,” which has more of a rock edge.

“I didn’t know what I was getting into when I set out to make this album,” Clinton writes on Facebook. “It was so much more time and energy than I had ever expected.

“But I loved every second of it. I made music that I’m so proud of and I got to meet and work with some incredible producers, musicians, and engineers. It was an experience that I will always remember and will feel deeply humbled by.”

Clinton was a contestant on Season 8 of The Voice, earning a spot on the show with a cover of Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind.”

He was 24 when he auditioned and had moved to New York for a marketing job that he said left little room for music.

He advanced to the knockout round before being eliminated.

Pre-Voice, Clinton was a lead singer for Traces of Eden, a modern country cross-over band based in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
