Gabby Barrett, the third-place finisher on American Idol, has a new single out.

Yep. Gabby Barrett is on the American Idol Live summer tour and having a great time, judging from her social media accounts.

But that hasn’t prevented her from continuing to release original music.

On Sunday, she released the country ballad “Missin Love.”

Says Gabby: “You know that relationship you just can’t figure out. You want a break, but when you take the break something is missing. I wrote this song about those feelings we go through.”

You can check out the new song below.

Meanwhile, major kudos to the folks with Idol for allowing current tour members to release music during the tour. Heck, during the season, for that matter. Believe me, back in the show’s heyday on FOX, that would have been strictly prohibited.

“Missin Love” is the sixth single Gabby has released this year. And only one has an Idol link, “Rivers Deep,” her Idol finale original.

As for the Idol tour, it’s still out West with three shows set for this week in Texas, followed by two early next week in Arizona.

But it will be coming to the East, with shows set in the Baltimore, Philly and D.C. area. The Idols will also be taking the York (Pa.) Fair stage on Sept. 12. Head here for show tickets.

Oh, and Gabby’s also announced on Instagram that she’s already lining up her own shows once the tour ends.

Here’s “Missin’ Love.”
