Jessica Sanchez’s debut album lands on Tuesday

To say Season 11 Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez has a good bit going on these days would be a bit of an understatement.

I can’t recall any other Idol finalists whose debut album was timed to coincide with her appearance on a hit TV show.

Last Thursday, Jessica began a three-show run as Frida Romero on Glee. She plays a vocal powerhouse for a team competing against the kids from William McKinley High School at Regionals.

On Tuesday, Jessica’s debut album — “Me, You and the Music” — lands in stores.

Of course, Jessica filmed the Glee episodes a while back. But she’s the first Idol finalist since Katharine McPhee to wait until the year after her Idol run to release a debut album.

She already performed the lead single, “Tonight” featuring Ne-Yo, on Idol. Expect more tunes along that line on “Me, You and the Music,” though it also includes a couple of ballads.

“I grew up singing ballads, but what I really wanted to get into was the mainstream music on the radio, because I really love the beats and everything,” Jessica said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

To celebrate the release of her album, Jessica is performing some of the songs from her album during a YouTube concert this afternoon.

The show starts at 3:30 p.m. EST, and you can head to YouTube.com/interscope to listen.
