Jonny GrayAfter Jonny Gray cracked the Top 12 on Season 5 of The Voice, he launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album.

You might say it went pretty well. Fans contributed more than $31,000 to the cause.

This weekend, Jonny delivered the results: A 12-track album called “Promises Broke.”

“After a year long wait my album is finally here!” Jonny wrote on Facebook.

“Thank you to everyone who supported me getting this album off the ground, tons of hard work went into this and I feel blessed and honored to have such a great support team and such wonderful friends and family behind me.”

Jonny celebrated the occasion with a CD release party at the Historic Scott Inn in his hometown of Austin, Texas.

Highlights of the new album include the title track (embedded below), “Good Day for Love” and “One More Day.” My personal favorite is a haunting song call “Dmfd,” inspired by a story Jonny heard while serving overseas in the Air Force.

As of Sunday evening, the album had cracked the Top 40 on the iTunes singer-songwriter albums chart.

Jonny was 29 when he auditioned for The Voice back in 2013. He earned a spot on Team Cee Lo with his blind audition performance of “All These Things That I’ve Done” by The Killers.

He previously released a five-track EP in 2011 called “Sail It Away.”

To keep up with Jonny, follow him on Facebook or his website. He’s @jonnygraymusic on Twitter.
