Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj performed, Nicki won an award and Jordin Sparks was among those in the audience at the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Nicki took the female hip-hop artist of the year award, beating out Azealia Banks, Eve, Rasheeda and Rye Rye.

Jordin was on hand in part because “Sparkle” was nominated for film of the year, an honor that went to “Think Like a Man.”

Mariah sang her latest hit, “Beautiful,” while Nicki joined Ciara and Chris Brown on stage.
