Kat Perkins, the Season 6 rocker on The Voice, has a new single out.

But it’s not a single that came about in the traditional way.

The song is called “Help Me,” written by by Sean Gasaway and Jamie Perrenot.

Kat tells Voice Views the song was intended for a movie, which is still TBA (to be announced).

“I was commissioned to be the singer on the soundtrack song, but I loved it so much I wanted to release it as a single,” she said.

“Back to my ‘rock’ roots on this song. Had a blast recording and shooting the album cover!”

Kat finished in the Top 5 on Season 6 of The Voice and has kept quite busy since then.

“Help Me” is her second single this year, following “Long Time Coming.” Since The Voice she’s also released a self-titled album (2015) and a pair of Christmas EPs.

Speaking of Christmas, she’s planning a series of Home for the Holidays shows beginning next month around her home state of Minnesota. You can check out all the tour dates on her Facebook page.

And right now, she’s in the Middle East on her seventh tour performing for U.S. troops stationed overseas.

Here’s “Help Me.”
