In early December, Kris Allen announced plans for a tour and a new album in 2016.
He filled in some of the blanks during a Twitter Q&A with fans on Saturday.
Kris announced that the album will be called “Letting You In” and will be released in late March.
He also plans to release a new single early in 2016, but wasn’t more specific than that.
As for that new album, he noted “this will be the quickest as far as the time in between and the time making it. So I couldn’t overthink it.”
The album will be the fourth for Kris since winning Season 8 of Idol. The self-titled album he released following Idol wasn’t a huge commercial success compared to those released by previous winners of the show.
But he’s follow that up with two fine singer-songwriter albums, “Thank You Camellia” in 2012 and “Horizons” in 2014.
As for the tour, it will kick off in late March and end in early June.
The tour includes a stop at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C., on April 5, at World Cafe Live in Philly on April 6, at the Pittsburgh Winery on April 13. You can check out the complete list on Kris’ website.
Don’t expect more June dates to be added. During the Twitter Q&A, Kris also revealed that he and wife Katy’s second baby is due in June. They also have a 2-year-old son, Oliver.
Oh, and Kris confirmed that he will appear on American Idol at some point during its final season, which kicks off this week.
“Details coming soon,” he added.
