Kyndal Inskeep drew high praise for her original sound throughout her time on Season 17 of The Voice.
Now that she’s off the show, Kyndal says she can’t wait to release original music so fans — old and new alike — become more familiar with her musical preferences and style.
Kyndal, 22 at the time of her audition, turned three chairs with her performance of “Never Been to Spain” and opted to join Team Gwen.
She wound up advancing all the way to the live playoffs before being eliminated.
Here’s what the Nashville resident told Voice Views about her experience on the show and her plans in music.
Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway / lesson learned from The Voice experience?
Kyndal: The experience performing was awesome and the vocal training lessons were priceless. I realized mostly that this is absolutely what I was born to do. I am more confident and determined than ever about successfully continuing my music career.
Voice Views: Which was your favorite Voice performance and why?
Kyndal: My favorite performance was Sia’s “Elastic Heart” for sure. My passion and emotion came through because it was the only song I could really relate to.
Voice Views: What are you post-Voice plans musically? Where are you hoping this opportunity leads?
Kyndal: I plan to head back to Nashville and continue my music career performing and getting back into the studio to record more originals.
Voice Views: Do you plan to release new music anytime soon? If so, can you tell me about that — what you’re planning, what fans can expert in terms of sound and the timetable for doing?
Kyndal: I have not decided when I will release my own original music yet, but I certainly will as soon as I can get it all together….I cannot wait! Fans will hear my own original, unique sound and style! I really want to do some collaborations with some other artists in Nashville too. Overall, I am looking forward to writing new music and touring.
Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?
Kyndal: It was a great opportunity that has offered me exposure I would not have gotten without the experience. Singing covers chosen by others is not my forte and I am not sure it really portrayed my style/interests in music to the audience, but I am excited for them to all hear my originals.
