Lisa Ramey from The Voice Season 16 has a new single out and an album on the way

Lisa Ramey from The Voice Season 16 has a new single out and an album on the way.

Lisa Ramey, a Season 16 standout on The Voice, has announced a debut album.

And she kicked it off by dropping the lead single, “You Ain’t My Friend,” on Friday.

“It’s an anthem for all those ‘friends’ we wish weren’t in our lives,” Lisa told SoulBounce.com.

The full-length album is called “Surrender” and will be released March 27.

Lisa told Vents Magazine the project is “like one gigantic journal entry.”

As for the title, it stems back to her time on The Voice spent with coach John Legend.

She says John taught her to let go of some musical crutches she’d been using “and I had to let go of trying to control everything in my life.”

Lisa has launched an Indiegogo campaign filled with rewards for those who want to support her album.

And she’s planning a full-band album release show on release night in New York City.

That will be held on the third floor of Leez Department Store, and you can find more details on Lisa’s website.

While “Surrender” will mark Lisa’s debut album, it won’t mark the first time she’s released music.

She spent five years fronting a New York funk-soul group called Sugarbad, and the group released two EPs during that time.

Lisa also released a debut EP, “I am … Lisa Ramey” in 2018.

Here’s that new single, “You Ain’t My Friend.”
