His audition: Aaron Scott, 36, of Tomah, Wisc., auditioned with “Hemorrhage (in My Hands)” by Fuel. John turned within the first two lines of the song. Blake turned midway through the audition. John praised the energy and charisma Aaron displayed. Aaron opted to join Team Blake.

Here’s more about Aaron:

* On Facebook, he describes himself as a small-town Wisconsin guy, a singer and songwriter. He’s from Wilton, Wisc.

* Since 2015, he’s fronted the Wisconsin rock band One Way North.

* One Way North released an eight-track album called “From Darkness” back in 2018.

* They followed that up with a 12-song album called “To Light” that came out in June. It features 11 originals and a cover of Lewis Calpadli’s “Someone You Loved.” You can check out snippets of a couple of songs from that album below.

* In a Facebook address to fans, Aaron calls that released “rewarding” and expressed pride in the work of his bandmates — Cody, Francisco, Matt, and Mark.

* Some of the songs on the album had been in the works for nearly six years, Aaron said. “For me, personally, that’s taken me on quite the journey of the ups and downs and experience in life, and that’s reflected in these songs,” he adds.

* A fire destroyed the home of band member Matt Callaway, his wife and his two young children earlier this summer. Aaron was promoting a Go Fund Me campaign on the band’s Facebook page to help the family recover. The Go Fund me is still active.

* Aaron says his mother sang and played music in church and he followed her interest “from a young age.”

* Prior to One Way North, he led worship in church and performed with a prior band called Finding Fortress. Aaron says he’s also working on solo music.

* As for the titles of the One Way North albums — “From Darkness” and “To Light” — Aaron say they’re a reflection of “my past struggles with depression and finding faith and support to get through it. It’s referenced often in the Bible and I felt it best captured the journey of my struggles and song writing.”
