Alt Bloom from The Voice Season 30

Alt Bloom is among the artists rumored to have earned a spot on Season 30 of The Voice.

The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.

Here’s more about Alt Bloom:

* His real name is Ethan Thompson. He’s in his 30s, born and raised in Whitefish, Montana, and now based in Los Angeles.

* And as Alt Bloom, he has lots and lots of music you can check out right now, including at least seven songs with more than 1 million streams apiece on Spotify.

* On Facebook, he describes his music as an “endlessly unpredictable fusion of alt-R&B and classic singer/songwriter pop.”

* In a 2020 interview, he says his stage name came from locking himself in his home for three days and slamming together words he liked that fit his situation and his vision for his music.

* “My whole thing is blending the kid I was that was raised in the woods with this city kid I have been the last nine years,” he said at the time.

* Those nine years included time spent in Boston studying at the Berklee College of Music, followed by his move to L.A., where he became part of a band called Ocean Park Standoff.

* Ocean Park Standoff released a self-titled 2017 EP that included the hit “Good News” (41 million streams on Spotify) and enjoyed success with a pair of follow-up singles.

* As Alt Bloom, he dropped his debut EP “Astronaut Complex” in 2020 during the pandemic. Which made touring to promote the EP impossible. But he says returning to Montana to ride out the shutdown “rebalanced things for me in a really beautiful way.”

* He’s been prolifically releasing music as Alt Bloom ever since. That includes five songs so far in 2026 — “Loralie,” “I Swear,” “Little Summer,” “Roll One and “Got Love,” all of which you can find on streaming sites.

* “Got Love” is a collaboration with Double Camp, the Nashville-based duo of Joe Neary and Jordan Burmeister. Alt writes that the project was two years in the making and has dubbed the collaboration Camp Bloom. “Got Love” came out July 31 and you can check it out below. They’ve since released two more songs together — “People Who You Know” and “Basics.”

* Oh, and according to one online bio, at one point Alt Bloom lived in a converted school bus near his studio in LA.
