Brandy Neelly from The Voice Season 30

The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.

Here’s more about Brandy:

* She’s a 31-year-old artists from Louisville, Kentucky, who is now based in Nashville and already has music out.

* That already released music includes a 2025 single called “Tequila Memory,” which you can check out below. And a 2024 country version of Avril Lavigne’s hit song “Complicated.”

* Brandy also hits The Voice stage with ample singing show experience. She auditioned for American Idol for four straights years beginning in 2011 when she was just 15.

* She earned a golden ticket to Hollywood all four seasons. And at age 18 in Season 13, she made it all the way to the Top 30. That was the season Idol unveiled a never-again-used Rush Week, in which 30 singers advanced, but only 20 got to sing. Brandy was among the 10 singers eliminated in that round without a chance to sing.

* After graduating high school, Brandy attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green while traveling to Nashville regularly for songwriting sessions.

* She released a six-song debut EP called “Honest” in 2019. She’s released at least six singles since. A frequent performer at The Listening Room in Nashville, she played her first sold-out show there in August 2024.

* In her Apple music bio, she recalls one of her earliest music memories as “driving to Florida with my grandpa as a little girl and singing Martina McBride in the car. He looked at me with surprise and said, ‘you can sing!’ I’ve been singing ever since.”

* Brandy has more than 17,000 followers and nearly 2 million likes on her TikTok.
