Elia Esparza will be a contestant on ABC’s revamped American Idol.

Elia Esparza is among contestants who have announced on social media that they auditioned for ABC’s new version of American Idol.

Idol premieres March 11 with Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan as the judges who determine which singers make it to Hollywood and which don’t.

Here’s more about Elia Esparza.

* She’s 25 and based in El Paso, Texas; both of her parents are from Mexico.

* This young lady will be familiar to fans of The Voice. She turned three chairs during the Season 11 blind auditions, landed a spot on Team Adam Levine, but was eliminated in the battle round.

* Elia then went on to compete on Season 6 of Mexico’s version of the show, “La Voz.” Singing “Side by Side,” she turned four chairs with her audition and advanced to the knockout round.

* At the time her USA Voice bio segment was filmed, Elia was entertaining at kid’s birthday parties as Bubbles with her buddy Bobo, but she has an impressive musical resume that includes an EP released in 2015 and a single and music video for a song called “Phoenix” in 2016.

* She’s released one song since The Voice — “Fool’s Gold.” Elia wrote the up-tempo pop song and debuted it at halftime of the college football Hyundai Sun Bowl in December 2016. You can check out an acoustic version of the song below.

* At one point, Elia wanted to pursue acting and theater as well. She said it was during her time as a student at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts that she decided to focus on music because it was the route that would allow her to be herself.

You might want to investigate a twist in the “Idol” voting this season that readers here may want to be alerted.

I’m posting this here because it’s a similar voting stunt “The Voice” has pulled.

Let me guess — live voting? Once they hit the finals, they’re only airing on Sundays, which has to mean live voting. Don’t know how else they could do it. Makes a lot of sense back … when the competition heats up, cut back on the number of shows. LOL.

        Nope.

“American Idol” used to let viewers decide who they want to advance from the Top 24 onward.

Now, as was with “AI15,” viewers don’t get to vote until the Top 14.

“Idol” has already filmed all episodes up to that point.

Just like what “The Voice” has become.

The coaches/judges on both shows now choose the finalists.

        It’s manipulative and unfair.
