Young Atlanta-based pop artist Erin Kirby auditioned for American Idol Season 18

Erin Kirby is among the talented singers who have announced they auditioned for the show.

Here’s more about Erin.

* She’s a young pop singer from Atlanta with music already released and a debut EP on the way.

* On her Facebook bio, Erin says she’s been performing since age 9, entering pageants at a young age and singing for the talent portion.

* “I stepped on stage and I knew this was what I wanted to do forever,” the teenager said in a September interview with Music All Access. “It has not been a difficult choice for me; it is really all I have wanted to do.”

* This summer, she performed prior to a game between the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox. She’s also performed at Showtime at the Apollo at the 2018 inauguration of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

* Erin released a song called “Have Mercy” when she was very young and it was used in an independent film called “Breathe.”

* She’s released four singles much more recently, including “Boomerang” (2018), “Ours Tonight,” “Steal Your Heart” and “Right Man” (all 2019). You can check out the impressive “Right Man” below.

* According to her website, she plans to released a debut EP in early 2020. Of course, Idol could affect those plans.

* However, Erin did release a new single, “Lying,” on Feb. 21 and you can head here to check it out.

* She told All Access her major influences include Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Gavin James, and Jessie J.

* She’s also been involved with a number of charities as a result of her music and her pageant experience. She was part of an anti-bullying campaign and has participated in a number of cancer awareness events. Her mother, grandmother and aunt are all cancer survivors.
