Idol Chatter & Voice Views

His audition: Evan James, 22, Highland, Mich., “Wasted on You” by Morgan Wallen: Evan displayed a nice deep voice as the song opened. When he hit the chorus, all three coaches with open spots on their teams — Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green and Adam Levine — turned. Kelly liked the R&B flavor Evan added to the song and congratulated him on a great job. Riley liked the soul in his voice and said he found his groove near the end of the song. Adam urged Evan to be strategic and go to a team not loaded with country artists. He said Evan has the ability to stand out on his team. Evan opted to join Team Adam. (Watch his audition below)
