Sarah Sellers, Season 10

Meet Hollywood-bound Sarah Sellers

1

Sarah Sellers advanced to Hollywood from the New Orleans auditions on American Idol.

One of the most promising female vocalists we’ve met so far on Idol is a 28-year-old Texan, Sarah Sellers.

During the New Orleans auditions, Sarah introduced herself as a marketing analyst and a food and music blogger.

You say you don’t remember her? She was the gal whose lips were compared to Steven Tyler’s.

Ah, now you remember.

And, yeah, she sings. Head to her MySpace and you’ll see that the Idol audition wasn’t a fluke. Or listen to the cover of Sarah Bareilles “Hold My Heart” below.

And, yep, she blogs. Here as a matter of fact. The blog is called Sarah’s Musical Kitchen.

On the “This is Me” page, Sarah explains that she developed a passion for singing in church, then went on to participate in local music competitions and school plays.

“One opportunity with a record label out of Nashville briefly came and went,” she writes, “so I continued with my education. Over the last few years I’ve tried my hand at American Idol, recording with some great local bands, and performed all over the State of Texas!”

So I get the impression this isn’t the first time she’s tried out for Idol.

Besides her husband, family and dogs, she says music and cooking are her favorite things.

Here’s hoping we hear more from her on Idol. I mean, she’d be the first food-blogging semifinalist in Idol history.

In the meantime, check out these performances.
