Without Regret, Kimberly Caldwell's debut album due out April 19Could it really happen this time?

There’s another release date for Kimberly Caldwell’s first album, “Without Regret.” Vanguard Records recently announced it will be available April 19.

This is the same album that was supposed to be released last spring, then last summer in order to add new songs, then in late December or early January.

Well, perhaps not exactly the same album. It apparently has a new cover.

The new cover is to the right. The old one appears below it.

Nice move, Kimberly. Or whoever made the decision.

The previous cover for Without Regret, by Kimberly Caldwell. The new one looks … well, less desperate.

Speaking of desperate, we also now have a video to accompany Kimberly’s current single, “Desperate Girls and stupid Boys.” You can watch it below.

The stop motion effect is neat. The song is even better. So good, I named it one of my top 10 Idol songs of 2010. (See where it landed and check out the others here.)

Of course, “Mess of You,” Kimberly’s first song off this long-awaited album wasn’t bad either.

And talk about long-awaited. Kimberly was on Idol way back in season two.

After that, she worked with Fox Sports for a while, worked with the TV Guide Channel for a long time covering Idol-related events, then hosted “P. Diddy’s Starmaker” on MTV.

In a 2010 interview I just watched, Kimberly said it was time to put down the show host mike and move to the other side of the mike. And that if she didn’t do it soon, she’d regret it.

Which makes the “Without Regret” album title sorta fitting.
