Jackie Bluebird of American Idol Season 24

Jackie Bluebird of American Idol Season 24

Her audition: Jackie Bluebird, 19, Orange County, Calif., “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse: Only part of her audition aired. Ryan Seacrest and former Idol standout Melinda Doolittle visited the Belmont University campus in Nashville and invited random students to sing for them. Jackie wound up in front of the celebrity judges, wound up with three yes votes to advance. Luke Bryan said he loved her “vibe.” Jackie left encouraging fellow students not to skip class — unless it’s to audition for Idol.

Here’s more about Jackie:

* She’s a pop artist from southern California, now based on Nashville as a sophomore at Belmont University.

* And she’s already released music, including an 8-song album called “Can’t See the Stop Signs.” It dropped in August.

* On Instagram, Jackie describes the album this way: “From California to Tennessee, these songs have been played at every open mic night, writers round, coffee shop, and farmers market that would have me. They are a reflection of who I am and who I have been over the last five years.”

* As for the album’s title, that stems from all the times people have told her not to pursue singing or doing music independently.

* “Well, i didn’t listen to them and did it anyways because life is short, so why not do what makes you happy???” Jackie writes.

* In an interview about her debut album with The Jambar, Jackie says she didn’t grow up in a musical family, but her parents encouraged her to take guitar and vocal lessons when she was young.

* She began performing at farmer’s markets and coffee shops while still in high school and adopted the stage name Jackie Bluebird around age 16.

* Her real name is Kaitlyn Vogel. In the interview with The Jambar, she said she wasn’t very confident at the time and wanted to create a more self-assured alter ego. Presto: Jackie Bluebird.

* In addition to her album, Jackie has a pair of singles out — “Scarlet” from 2024 and “The Stars” from 2023.

* And on Spotify, Jackie says her biggest lyrical influences are Amy Winehouse and Sheryl Crow.
