Jared Shoemaker of The Voice Season 29

His audition: Jared Shoemaker, 32, of Richmond, Kent., performed “I Never Lie” by Zach Top. He served in the U.S. Navy and started singing to keep his spirits up. Now he’s a full-time artist. He’s performing at a time when Kelly’s team and John’s team are already full. Wow, Jared, immediately showed off a great country tone. And he hasn’t even hit the chorus when he gets a chair turn from Adam and the very last spot on Season 29. That was a very, very solid performance from Jared. Well done. Adam said he loves the subtle simplicity of Jared’s voice. John said he definitely would have pushed if he had a spot on his team.

* He’s lead singer for a band called Marshull that just released its first album, “Long Time Coming” in January.

* It’s a nine-song project with songs ranging from the fun “Chicken Pickin'” to a rocker called “All Night Long” to a heartfelt ballad called “Rock N Roll Cowboy.” Check out the music video for “Chicken Pickin'” below.

* The band hails from Eastern Kentucky and also includes drummer Justin Harris, bass player Tristan Lambert and guitarist Camden Baso.

* “Versatility is in our blood, sharing influences from band member to band member to form a truly unique sound, and it’s one that delivers a one of a kind experience,” Jared says in the band’s Spotify bio.

* A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Jared is a former machinist mate serving in the U.S. Navy, according to his Facebook page.

* He graduated from Oxford High School and has studied aviation and commercial flying at Eastern Kentucky University, according to that bio.

* Judging from his social media, horse riding is another of his passions.

* On his TikTok, his most popular videos are superb covers of a pair of Lynyrd Skynyrd songs — “On the Hunt” and “I Need You.”
