Her audition: Jules, 15, of Peoria, Ariz., performed “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” by Cage the Elephant. She had nearly completed the song when she slowed things down for a very impressive ending that prompted chair turns from Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Kelly said she was surprised to learn Jules was so young and called it a “really cool” version of the song. Blake said he thinks she could make it to the finale. Jules joined Team Kelly.

Here’s more about Jules.

* She’s a 16-year-old singer-songer from Atlanta who now resides in the Phoenix area.

* Despite her young age, she’s already released music — in the form of a six-song EP called “Marvelous Misconceptions” in the spring of 2018, followed by a single called “Something Different” later that same year.

* The day she turned 15, she appeared on Good Morning Arizona to sing one of her originals, a song about a cousin’s breakup. She said she typically just writes about “whatever’s going on in my life.”

* According to her web bio, she began playing guitar at age 8 and was writing songs by the time she was 10.

* And by age 12, she was playing shows around the Phoenix / Scottsdale area in Arizona.

* In an interview with the Daily Mix in Phoenix, Jules says she was drawn to music because it’s so universal, something everyone relates to and that she hopes to use her music to help people. “Music can make people feel things. It can make them cry, laugh, be happy. If I can reach people that way, that’d be the best thing,” she said.
