Koumba Diallo from The Voice Season 30
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Here’s more about Koumba:
* She’s Koumba Cariño Diallo, a 15-year-old high school student from Delano, Calif., and an aspiring actress, singer and songwriter.
* On her YouTube account, she says she decided to try singing in mid-2019 as part of the talent portion of the Philippine Weekend Tiny Tots program. She wound up winning.
* Judging from her parent-run social media accounts, she hasn’t slowed down since and has had the honor of singing the national anthem at a number of community and professional sporting events.
* Koumba is also a star student. She graduated from La Vina Middle School in June 2025 as student of the year and top scholar.
* Those national anthem appearances include two NBA games — the Denver Nuggets vs. the L.A. Clippers and the New Orleans Pelicans vs. the Sacramento Kings. Both performances came when she was just 13.
* In 2025, she participated in a four-week summer program at the California Institute of the Arts and calls it “a summer that changed me forever” because of her growth as an artist, her increased self-confidence and the friends and memories she made.
* In that YouTube bio, Koumba writes: “I love singing because music makes me happy, it is my escape, and it allows me to express myself! Music helps bring people together, and music heals. I hope to one day use my voice to help others.”
* Koumba has a wide range of covers on her social media, from “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to “Heartbreak Anniversary” to “Defying Gravity,” which she says is one of the first songs she ever learned.
