His audition: Liam St. John, 29, of Spokane, Wash., performed “Sex and Candy” by Marcy Playground. Liam was well into the song when his soulful stylings prompted chair turns from Blake and Gwen. Blake said there were apparently some “hearing problems,” considering only two coaches turned. Gwen said he “sounded incredible” and complimented him on a “rich” voice. Liam opted to join Team Gwen.

Here’s more about Liam:

* He’s now Los Angeles-based and describes himself as a blues-rock singer songwriter.

* His Spotify bio says he’s best known for his vibrant stage presence and backs his “powerhouse vocals with the swagger and passion of a gritty blues singer.”

* In June, he kicked off a Go Fund Me for a deubt album called “Not a Good Man Walking.”

* The album has yet to materialize, but Liam’s been busy releasing singles in 2020.

* Those releases include a cover of “A Change is Gonna Come” and a quintet of originals — “Glossed,” “Grandfather Collar,” “The Kitchen Song,” “Stained Glass” and “Sinking Hole.” You can check out two of his excellent originals below.

* He’s offering free downloads for anyone who heads to his website.

* And if that isn’t enough Liam, there are dozens of covers on his YouTube channel and on his Instagram page.

* On YouTube, you’ll also find two touching tributes to a friend named Eddie, who was killed by a drunken driver at age 17. Writes Liam: “Eddie was a best friend to me in the years of my life where I didn’t have many friends, and when my self confidence and self esteem were very low. Eddie didn’t care and he was my friend any way. He helped me to be myself and to have confidence in who that was. I am forever grateful for the time I was blessed to spend with him.”
