Lisa Scinta, Season 3, The Voice

Meet Lisa Scinta of Team Christina on The Voice

8

OK, here’s another young lady who deserved much more than the snippet of airtime she received on the blind audition episodes of The Voice.

Lisa Scinta is a 25-year-old songwriter from Los Angeles by way of Vegas by way of Buffalo.

Her bio on The Voice tells us that she was once an aspiring Olympic gymnast.

But she’s apparently been in this music business for a good while, releasing an EP called “The Bathroom Sessions” in 2010 and another, “Naked,” in 2011.

You can hear full-length versions of the “Bathroom” songs on her MySpace page. And make sure to check out the catchy, single-sounding “It’s Not Love” from “Naked;” I’ve embedded it below.

She’s also has attracted a following by posting lots of covers to YouTube, ranging from Nicki Minaj and Keisha to Jeff Buckley and Lady Antebellum.

Beside genre on Facebook, she writes: “I don’t fit into a conventional genre box.” Followed by a smiley face.

Anyway, Lisa’s interest in music isn’t surprising since she comes from a family that performed as The Scintas — music, comedy and impressions — in Buffalo before moving to Las Vegas around 2000.

On The Voice, Lisa performed “Teenage Dream” and was snatched up by Team Christina.

Which couldn’t have made her happier. She says Christina used to be “all I listened to. I never thought in a million years she would turn around for me.”

Editor’s Note: Check back for live blogs once the battle rounds begin on The Voice.

Unfortunately there isn’t enough airtime on the show for Lisa to even get half of the airtime she should! Definitely one of the BEST up coming US singers.
