Michael B. Williams from The Voice Season 23

Michael B. Williams is among the artists to announce that he auditioned for Season 23 of The Voice.

The Voice returns to NBC Tuesday night.

Here’s more on Michael:

* He’s 29 and on Facebook describes himself as a “completely independent actor, musician, and music producer living in Los Angeles.”

* He’s among The Season 23 contestants who have already released music to streaming sites. In his case, many of those are covers, mashups or Christmas music.

* Michael released his first original single, “Bad Feeling” in early 2019. It’s a pop song about a guy feeling like a relationship is slipping away.

* And in May 2020, he released a fun song and music video called “Corona You Gotta Go,” encouraging folks to follow the CDC guidelines. You can check it out below.

* Says Michael at the end of the song: “I hope this video brought you a little joy amidst all the chaos right now. Sending positive energy to anyone who’s been affected by the corona virus, not only health-wise, but also financially, emotionally, mentally, etc.”

* Michael can be counted among that group. Prior to the pandemic, he’d spent three years touring as one of four featured singers in a show called December 1963, celebrating the music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.

* As a result of live performances coming to a halt, Michael switched his focus to TV-commercial production in L.A. “I surprisingly love being on the other side of the camera,” he wrote in September 2021. “Not saying I’m throwing in the towel with music, but WE GOTTA EAT, ya know?”

* Since that time, he released a mini-Christmas EP called “Under the Tree” in December 2021.

* Michael’s obviously a big fan of Ariana Grande, covering a number of her songs in YouTube videos. He released a mashup of “Obvious” and “Right There” in 2021.

* And one of his good friends and a frequent collaborator is former American Idol contestant Hollie Cavanagh (fourth place Season 11). They released a cover of Sam Smith’s “No Peace” and have a wonderful version of “The Prayer” on YouTube.
