Her audition: Tayler Green, 27, of Franklin, N.J., performed “Issues” by Julia Michaels. Her plaintive vocals prompted an early chair turn from Kelly Clarkson. Nick Jonas followed midway through the performance. John Legend loved the fact that her hair and name are coordinated. Nick said that when he heard Tayler hit the high notes, he knew she has the ability to win the show. Kelly called her “super, super talented.” Tayler opted to join Team Kelly.

Here’s more about Tayler.

* She now resides in L.A. and says her interest in singing goes all the way back to age 3 when she discovered her ear for music.

* She grew up singing in church and says she learned to play piano by watching and listening to her father, Pastor Derrick Green.

* Tayler describes herself as an artist, composer, pianist and vocal coach on Instagram.

* She hasn’t posted a new video to her YouTube channel for some time, but you can find more current covers on her Instagram and Facebook page. Below is a recent cover of “Whole New World” from Aladdin with Carlos Sanz.

* In 2018, she played the role of Jasmine in a Romeo and Juliet style musical film called “GangLand,” set on the violent streets of Chicago. She posted a photo of herself working the Tamar Braxton on Faceook. The film is in post-production.

* She previously tried out for American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice, according to this 2016 video interview.

* She’s also been working on her own original music, and writes on Facebook: “Every song I make has a message, whether it’s ‘not sweating the little things’ or ‘about the struggle of being afraid to fall in love.’ But my message is always about love: ‘Love one another, Forgive one another.'”

* As for already released music, you can check out a single called “Summer Waves” from last year and a pop EP with Brandon Bishop from 2018 called “Volume One.”

* According to her Voice bio, Tayler has been working a variety of jobs to make ends meet and is hoping her appearance on The Voice leads to a chance to focus full-time on music.
