Melanie Martinez cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 for the second time with her new album, “K-12.”

In fact, “K-12” landed at number three on the chart, behind only Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” and Taylor Swift’s “Lover.”

That’s an even better chart showing than Melanie enjoyed for her debut album “Cry Baby,” which hit the chart at number six and eventually stayed on the Billboard 200 for two full years.

Melanie was a Season 3 contestant on The Voice and her “K-12” project was the most ambitious ever undertaken by a singer from the show.

The “K-12” album was accompanied by the release of a film Melanie wrote, directed and starred in.

“K-12” sold 57,000 equivalent album units in its first week. That means it has a long way to go to reach “Cry Baby,” which went platinum, indicating sales of more than 1 million albums.

Melanie’s about to go out on tour with the music from “K-12” and is promising a theatrical show that “will bring the music to life on stage.” You can check out what she means here where Melanie performs “Strawberry Shortcake” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

That “K-12” tour will begin with an Oct. 13 performance in D.C. It also includes an Oct. 30 show in Philly.

Meanwhile, “K-12” chart showing solidifies Melanie’s status as the most successful former Voice contestant. No one else from the show has had two albums crack the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. Cassadee Pope (“Frame by Frame” from 2019 at #9) and Jordan Smith (“Something Beautiful” in 2016 at #2) both did that once.
