Here comes another country music awards show. Something, apparently, TV viewers just can’t get enough of.

On Monday, Dec. 6, FOX will televise the first-ever American Country Awards from the MGM Grand Plaza in Vegas. The show will air from 8 to 10 p.m. that night.

The exciting news for Idol fans is that some of their favorites are likely to be on hand.

The expansive list of nominees even includes Danny Gokey, the third-place finisher from season eight, nominated alongside Easton Corbin, Jaron and The Long Road To Love, Jerrod Niemann and The Band Perry in the Breakthrough Artist category.

Kellie Pickler picked up two nominations, for female single of the year and female video or the year — both for “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You.”

Carrie Underwood received six award nominations for the new American Country Awards, to be televised Dec. 6. (AP Photo)And then there’s Carrie Underwood, the most likely to leave the MGM touting trophies or whatever they’re going to give out at this event.

She’s nominated for six awards — artist of the year, female artist of the year, album of the year, female single of the year (“Cowboy Casanova”), tour of the year and female video of the year (“Cowboy Casanova” again).

And she doesn’t even lead the pack in terms of nominations. That distinction goes to Lady Antebellum and Easton Corbin with seven nominations each.

But the trio of Idols find themselves in a familiar spot, hoping for the public’s support.

That’s because all the awards are being handed out based on fan voting.

You can vote once a day on all the awards through Nov. 8. Voting in the artist of the year category continues through Dec. 4.
