Just in time for the start of the American Idol summer tour, 19 Entertainment has released a bunch of EPs featuring highlights from Season 11.

You’ll find them at your local Wal-Mart. Each of the top five contestants get their own EP, selling for $5 a pop. And there’s an EP of show highlights for $7.

Why would you buy an EP if you already downloaded your favorite’s performances as they became available over the course of the season?

Because those marketing whizzes associated with Idol have included duets and group numbers on the new EPs. And those haven’t been available before.

There’s even a separate EP of duo/group number highlights.

Now, I can’t see folks flocking to buy Skylar Laine’s EP just to listen to Colton Dixon sing “Islands in the Stream” again.

But Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone tackling “Stop Dragging My Heart Around?”

Oh, yeah.
