Yep, it might the holidays, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t new non-holiday music to enjoy from some favorites from past seasons of The Voice.
In fact, Cole Vosbury has an entire album out. Plus there are new releases from Andrew Sevener, Paula DeAnda, Niki Dawson and Taylor John Williams.
Here’s a bit about each of those releases.
The links take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.
* Cole Vosbury, Top 5 on Season 5, released “ThelonerThestoner,” a nine-song album last week. “This record is a much more lo-fi approach than my previous record and my hope is that it reveals an immensely honest and pure representation of my creative spirit,” he writes on social media, adding, “The cover art is a painting of mine that I felt best represents the sparse nature of the music.” Some of the tracks on the new album are purely instrumental. For those who missed it, Cole dropped his debut album “Entity: One” back in September. He’s also been performing as one half of The Lovers” with Amanda June. They released a debut EP in February.
* Andrew Sevener a Season 16 finalist, has released “2019 B.C.” on Friday. B.C., of course, stands for Before COVID. Andrew and his band buddies said they knew they had to record the song as soon as one of the co-writers presented it to them. They’re taking the pandemic seriously, Andrew said, “but, when I heard this song, it made me feel that there’s going to be a light at the end of this tunnel. I hope we can bring a smile to your faces with this one.” And congrats go out to Andrew, who got engaged to now-finance Molly Bennett last month.
Paula DeAnda from Season 6 released a steamy new single called “Freaky” on Friday. There’s a matching music video available on Fans Only. “Freaky” marks Paula’s first solo single since 2019’s “Iddi Biddi.”
Niki Dawson from Season 1 released “Lonely Wolf” last week. It’s her first single since releasing a four-song EP called “Last Summer” back in August.
* Taylor John Williams from Season 7 released a Christmas day cover of “God’s Away on Business” by Tom Waits. Writes Taylor: “A ‘Christmas song’ to sum up a ghastly year. Hopefully God returns from his work trip soon so that we can all go back to touching each other.”
