Here’s a look at some of the new music released recently by former contestants from The Voice.

With Season 17 approaching, lots of new music is hitting digital sites, including singles from Kalvin Jarvis, Anthony Paul, Jordy Searcy, Jacob Poole, Missy Robertson and an EP from Jaclyn Lovey.

Kalvin Jarvis, a Top 24 finisher on Season 16, has started to release his original post-Voice music, beginning with “Falling So Hard” last month and following up with the more recent “Big Mood,” an impressive R&B track. The latter also features a rap assist courtesy of Tommy Will.

Anthony Paul from Season 5 just released a catchy new single called “Free,” showing off his impressive vocal skills. And he shows off his dance moves in an accompanying music video. Anthony wrote the song with Deon Mari, Dan Dunn and Michael Petillo.

Jacob Poole released his second Christian single of 2019, “Safe,” on Friday. His first, “Speak,” came out back in July and is already approaching 50,000 streams on Spotify. Jacob also released a music video for that song. He was a Season 5 contestant on The Voice.

Missy Robertson from Season 12 recently released a new Christian single called “The Way He Sees You.” She wrote the song with Dan Read and Justin Morgan and writes “we knew it would be a hit by the time we were done.” A worship director in Sacramento, Calif., Missy plans to release an EP next month.

Jordy Searcy is back with a new single called “Better” and writes: “Gotta say, I’m not sure that I’ve been this excited about a song in a long time.” That’s saying something considering the source, because the Season 7 contestant has been rolling out a steady stream of impressive originals including “Dark in the City,” one of Voice Views’ picks for best post-Voice albums of 2018.

Jaclyn Lovey, just 16 when she auditioned for the show, released her third EP since appearing on Season 14 of The Voice and her fourth overall. It’s called “Happy Again,” not surprising from a singer-songwriter who rates her summer a “9” on social media. Be sure to check out EP closing “Where the Stars Are” and the Billie Eilish-inspired “Always in My Mind.”
