New post-Voice releases include songs from Liam St. John, Dexter Roberts and Sara Collins.

Here’s a bit about each of those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.

* Liam St. John, from Season 19, has released “Not a Good Man Walking,” a song he wrote four years ago after friends told him an intriguing story about a man they had met. “The song wrote itself in what felt like 10 minutes,” he shares on Instagram. “I wondered for a while why it was so inspired and written so quickly, but I soon realized that I was writing a song to help cope with a deep and dark depression. ‘Not A Good Man Walking’ was a characterization of the insidious pain living inside of me. This song saved me.” It follows the excellent “forefathers” — which hit the Top 10 on Apple Music’s blues chart — as Liam’s second release of 2022.

Dexter Roberts of The Voice Season 16

* Dexter Roberts, a Season 16 finalist, waited nearly three years to drop his first post-show single (“Country as Country Comes”) earlier this year. Now he’s already back with a second, a country rocker called “Friday Night” that dropped Friday morning. Says Dexter: “his one goes out to all the hard-working folks just trying to make it to Friday!”

* Sara Collins, from Season 18, recently dropped a new country single called “Your Heart or Mine.” It’s about a gal looking for more than a quick hookup. She wrote the song with Georgia Miles and Jeff Roe. It follows last summer’s “Airplane Mode” as her second single since appearing on The Voice in the spring of 2020.
