Five singers will compete Monday night for four spots in next week’s Season 8 finale on The Voice.

And on Tuesday, the final instant save of Season 8 will determine which singer gets that fourth spot.

The Voice has apparently decided to stick with a four-singer finale the spring after having just three cast members in the finale in Seasons 3 through 6.

But judging from a reading of the official rules, producers also have decided to ditch the wild card experiment from Season 7, during which each eliminated finalist got to come back and compete for the fourth spot in the finals.

Check back Monday at 8 p.m. for a live blog with song by song grades and Tuesday at the same time for a live blog as the finalists are revealed.

Meanwhile, here’s the rankings for the Top 5, with last week’s ranking in parenthesis. Follow the link to each singer’s name and you’ll go to a blog with all their Voice performances and iTunes results.

1. Sawyer Fredericks (1): Last week was the first time the finalists got to sing twice. So what happens? Both of Sawyer’s songs wind up in the Top 10 on iTunes. If someone not named Sawyer wins Season 8, it will be the biggest upset in Voice history.

2. Meghan Linsey (3): With Kimberly Nichole eliminated before she should have been, Meghan owns the most dynamic vocal prowess on the show, something she displayed twice last week. “Amazing Grace” was an amzing song choice. Don’t be surprised if Meghan and Blake come up with another.

3. Joshua Davis (4): Joshua’s the show’s old pro, just like Will Champlin, Tony Lucca, Nicholas David and Josh Kaufman in seasons past. And he’s enjoyed two of his best weeks the past two weeks, earning bonus points for “Fields of Gold” and just missing with “In My Life.”

4. Koryn Hawthorne (5): She might not be the most technically perfect singer among the final five. She’s probably the least experienced. But she overcomes imperfections with intensity. Voice voters love surprising young singers, and Koryn’s been the surprise of Season 8.

5. India Carney (6): After needing an instant save two straight weeks, and earning it by the narrowest of margins, it’s tough to imagine India leap-frogging two singers on this list and landing in Top 3 safety Tuesday night. And no singer has ever earned three straight saves on The Voice.
