Back in early December, we learned that Scotty McCreery would be performing in nearby Lancaster, Pa., in May.

Turns out that’s just one of four Pennsylvania dates on his upcoming Weekend Roadtrip Tour 2013.

In fact, the tour begins in mid-February, and one of the very first dates is a Feb. 14 show at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.

Scotty will also play Pittsburgh at Stage AG on Feb. 21 and Wilkes-Barre at the F.M. Kirby Center on April 20.

The May 10 date on the American Music Theatre in Lancaster is actually one of the last on the tour.

Why Weekend Roadtrip as a name?

That’s because most of the concert dates are on weekends.

“Right now, I’m balancing my music career with my second semester at North Carolina State University,” he said in a press release announcing the tour. “I go to school early in the week and get to play my music every weekend. So, calling this tour the Weekend Roadtrip Tour just made sense. Plus, what college student doesn’t love a good roadtrip?”
