Jeffery Austin, Season 9 finalist on The Voice, has released his second single.

So are you still wondering how Jeffery Austin turned a one-chair turn into a fourth-place finish on Season 9 of The Voice?

Or how the then-24-year-old advanced so far on the show even though his blind audition marked his first major performance since high?

Well, Jeffery served up another reminder on Friday, releasing a second single called “Stay the Night.”

This one has a bit more of a pop vibe than his first release, “Only You,” which came out last October.

What hasn’t changed are Jeffery’s remarkable vocals.

On Facebook, Jeffery shares the story about writing the song last year while he was touring as much as possible post-Voice, trying to crank out new tunes while performing material “I truly didn’t believe in.”

“I wrote ‘Stay The Night’ after one of the worst tour stops I’ve had (I won’t say which one),” he writes.

“I was gonna call it a day on the singing thing, but had one more session and this song came out.

“There’s a whole lot of reasons why it hasn’t come out until now — deals fell through, bunch of maybes from different people. But it’s ready to come out like a 15-year-old choir queer at his first gay pride parade.”

Jeffery, openly gay, says this is the “this is the first of a few songs coming your way that I’m actually proud of and ready to sing for you and stand behind.”

Oh, meanwhile, “Only You” has racked up more than 1.6 million plays on Spotify.

You can keep up with Jeffery through his Facebook page and website. On Twitter, he’s @JefferyAustin.

Here’s the new song.
