It’s official.

Playoff pass recipients Bryan Olesen and Madison Curbelo have made the semifinals of The Voice based on a grand total of three solo performances.

The same can’t be said for the other two playoff pass recipients from Season 25.

L. Rodgers and Nadège were eliminated Tuesday night along with Zoe Levert as The Voice went from a Top 12 to a Top 9.

Bryan and Madison were voted into that Top 9 along with Asher HaVon and Josh Sanders of Team Reba, Nathan Chester of Team Legend, Maddi Jane and Serenity Acre of Team Chance and Karen Waldrup of Team Dan + Shay.

Tae Lewis, the 31-year-old North Carolina country singer, then nabbed the instant save.

That meant Team Dan + Shay was the only one that didn’t lose a singer in Tuesday’s results show.

Oh, and can anyone out there tell me why the contestants had to wear the exact same clothing for both the Monday and Tuesday shows.

Song by song grades for the Top 12
Ranking the Top 12 on The Voice

Zoe Levert (Team Legend), 20, New Orleans, La., “Slow Burn” by Kacey Musgraves: Zoe might be alright with a “Slow Burn,” but the song’s title is a sign that it isn’t a great choice for this situation. And while Zoe has shown incredible growth over the course of the competition, this was not a sign of that. She did show off a very nice tone later in the performance. Grade: C–

Nadège (Team Chance), 26, Wellington, Fla., “Smooth Operator” by Sade: This would have been a better song choice than “He Loves Me” on Monday’s show. At least it would have if Nadège delivered it with her typical smooth, on-point vocals. This wasn’t that. Perhaps the pressure of the situation is showing. Grade: C

L. Rodgers (Team Reba), 34, Baltimore, Md., “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” by Elton John: Now here’s a song appropriate for the situation, right? And after subpar vocals from Zoe and Nadège, L. starts off strong. But the arrangement included some jarring changes, and L. hit some jarring notes. Not her best vocal, though she ended with a nice glory note. Grade: B–

Tae Lewis (Team Dan + Shay), 31, Goldsboro, N.C., “The Church on Cumberland Road” by Shenandoah: Tae takes the stage for a fun upbeat performance. He seems much more relaxed than the ladies who already performed. Solid vocal with great stage presence. That should be enough to get him the save because that was easily the best of the save performances. Grade: B+
