Taylor Phelan has released the second EP he promised fans last summer.

Former The Voice standout Taylor Phelan fulfilled a promise over the weekend with the release of “2 of 2.”

Not a very imaginative EP title, but in this case Taylor is letting his brand of indie-rock do the talking.

Taylor released the seven-song collection “1 of 2” last summer, promising the second half of the project would follow.

“2 of 2” features six songs, and includes some of his favorites, Taylor told fans in a Facebook Live chat last week.

“We actually recorded all of these songs in the studio together,” he said. “We recorded it as a full-length LP.

“We made the decision to split it into two parts as a way to highlight and give more attention to each song.”

Taylor will showcase the new music during a series of July tour dates, beginning with a July 6 show when the Warped Tour stops in Dallas. You can check out his other upcoming tour dates on his website.

Taylor was 25 when he auditioned for The Voice and competed as a member of Team Pharrell Williams and Team Adam Levine. He made it to the Top 20 before being eliminated.

Here’s the lyric video for “Long Way Down,” one of the songs on “2 of 2.” You’ll also want to be sure to check out “Forever You” and “Harvest the Moon.”
