The Voice knockout round will air over the next two Monday nights as the field gets whittled down for the Season 25 playoffs.
Each team has seven singers remaining, but one of those has a playoff pass, meaning they’ll get to skip this round.
That leaves three knockouts matches per team with the singers going head to head on solo songs of their choosing.
Each coach has one steal this round. That means eight of the 24 singers competing in the knockouts will be eliminated.
That will leave each team with a newly stolen singer, three knockout round winners and a playoff pass recipient heading into the playoffs on April 22.
Here’s a look at Team Dan + Shay.
Best so far: Kyle Schuesler gets the nod. The guy’s got a great voice and the only reason he failed to turn four chairs is because one team was already full when he auditioned. Besides, Voice fans are more inclined to support guys (six of thee last eight winners).
Most likely to make the playoffs: Madison Curbelo got the playoff pass, so she’s in. After failing to turn a chair in Season 20, she’s returned to become one of Season 25’s favorites, both in talent and personality. Karen Waldrup looks like a lock. No way the veteran country singer is going to stumble on a song of her choosing.
The Team
Anya True, 17, of Encinitas, Calif., performed “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez in the blinds, turning 2 chairs. She then won her battle with AJ Harvey. They performed “Half of My Heart” by John Mayer.
Ducote Talmage, 20, of Auburn, Alabama, turned 2 chairs in the blinds with “Sand in My Boots” by Morgan Wallen. He then won his battle with Ryan Coleman. They performed “Rock in a Hard Place” by Bailey Zimmerman.
Frank Garcia, 19, turned just Dan + Shay’s chair in the blinds, singing “Love in the Dark” by Adele. But he then won his battle with twins Justin and Jeremy Garcia. They performed “Million Reasons” by Lady Gaga.
Karen Waldrup, 36, turned 2 chairs in the blinds singing Dee Messina’s “Bye Bye.” She then won her battle against Ryan Argast. They performed “Save Me the Trouble” by Dan + Shay.
Kyle Schuesler, 19, of Huntington Beach, Calif., turned the only 3 available chairs in th blinds with Coldplay’s “The Scientist.” He won his battle with Madison Curbelo, though she got the playoff pass. They sang “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.
Madison Curbelo, 21, of Westfield, Mass., turned all 4 chairs in the blinds, singing “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. She ‘lost’ her battle with Kyle Schuesler, but snagged the playoff pass. They sang “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.
Olivia Rubini, 24, of Wilmington, Del., earned the very last spot on Season 25, performing “Long Long Time” by Linda Ronstadt, landing on Team Legend. She was then stolen after losing her battle with Jackie Romeo. They sang “Edge of Seventeen” by Stevie Nicks.
