Krystal and Allison Steel of the 2Steel Girls from The Voice Season 3 have released a new album.

Who says you can’t mix genres on the same record?

The 2Steel Girls sure don’t think that way.

The first three songs on their new album, “The Real Thing,” feature a flat-out rocker called “Lost,” a pop tune with a ’50s twist called “Sugar Rush” and a country-tinged ballad called “Inside Your Heart.”

And then there’s the album’s pinnacle, back-to-back funk-infused tunes called “I Won’t Grow Up” and “Queen Bee.”

Officially, “The Real Thing” is a country album, according to iTunes, where it charted as such upon its Friday release.

But Allison Steel told Voice Views earlier this year that she and daughter Krystal had one goal in selecting songs for “The Real Thing” — to record songs they loved, regardless of genre.

“We co-produced it and when we were creating it we had one rule only — do what we love 100%,” Allison and Krystal say on their Facebook page.

“It’s fun and takes you on a journey. It’s badass and quirky. It’s bold and tender. And it definitely isn’t regular.

“It’s everything we have every wanted in an album. It’s our dream record.”

Allison and Krystal celebrated with an album release party at Rowdy’s Smokehouse in Jackson, Ohio, on Friday; then performed at the Dreamland Music Festival in Portsmouth on Saturday.

You can check out their other upcoming shows — including two in the Pittsburgh area — on their Facebook page and website.

The 2Steel Girls competed on Season 3 of The Voice and, to date, remain the only mother-daughter duo to make the show.

Here’s “Queen Bee” from “The Real Thing.”
