The Voice pays tribute to Christina Grimmie

0
Voice has posted a touching tribute video to Christina Grimmie that you can check out at right.

The video features Season 6 contestants and singers who took part in the show’s summer tour following that season sharing their memories of Christina.

It includes contributions from Jake Barker, Kat Perkins, Audra McLaughlin, Delvin Choice, Will Champlin, Jacquie Lee and Bria Kelly.

Meanwhile, the GoFundMe account created in Christina’s honor after her death has now exceeded $190,000.

In a Facebook post, Christina’s brother Marcus said his family will use the funds to move out of their current house and “take care of the funeral.”

In the same post, he promised to read every message left on that page and encouraged Christina’s fans to sign a petition to have a character named after her in a planned 2017 release of a new game in Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda series.

Christina was a huge fan of video games; her YouTube user name was ZeldaxLove64.

“Please do not feel the need to donate anything at all. Please,” Marcus wrote on Facebook. “Just leave a kind word, message or picture in the comments or message me and sign this change.org petition to help Christina possible be remembered in the next legend of Zelda game, her favorite game of all time.”

So far, that petition has been supported by more than 60,000 people.

Christina was killed by a gunman while greeting fans after a show in Florida June 11. She was buried in a private service last Thursday, thousands turned out for a memorial service in her honor the following day in her home state of New Jersey.
