David Archuleta might be on his two-year mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, but new music is on the way.
He recorded an album of covers earlier this year, before he departed on the trip and, over the last 24 hours, the album cover and the track list have been revealed.
Yep, that’s the former to the right. The album will be called “Begin.”
And here’s the track list:
1 – Beautiful
2 – Somewhere Only We Know
3 – Everybody Hurts
4 – Don’t Give Up
5 – Angel
6 – Bridge Over Troubled Water
7 – Broken
8 – True Colors
9 – Pride (In The Name Of Love)
10 – Be Still My Soul
David said earlier the album would focus on inspirational music, and that’s certainly the case.
I’ll be particularly interested in hearing his versions of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “True Colors.”
With his vocal skills, he has the capability to make both songs special.
The album is due out Aug. 7. No word yet that I can find on when pre-orders will begin.
But if you head to David’s website, you’ll also find a snippet of the video for “I’ll Never Go,” a song he recorded for “forevermore,” his album of Filipino music.

Mr. Franklin, thanks for the info on David’s new album and track list. We fans are very fortunate to have such a considerate musician to follow. David has gifted us with many Mv’s, and albums while we await his return. He has done this in a few short weeks before his departure. There is no other like this dynamic young man. Love him dearly.

Thanks, Mark, for your timely and accurate info on David’s work! I really appreciate your support of him. He’s a workhorse! TWO cds out in a matter of 5 months!! WHO DOES THAT?! Not to mention he starred in a mini series in Phillipines that ran each night for 5 weeks! Geez. That’s what he did in 3 months. I can’t get over how much he puts out – and it’s all such amazing quality and talent. Can’t wait to see what he does when he returns from his mission 🙂

Is there any song he can’t sing? So talented. He knows how to control his vocal power, vibrato and runs/riffs according to each song. Just heard his own penned ‘Elevator’ is used in a Korean commercial for 3 months!!!
