Karen Waldrup, finalist on The Voice Season 25, has announced the release of a special new single.

Special because two of her Season 25 colleagues — Bri Fletcher and Dani Stacy — are featured on the song.

Special too because it’s a boot-stomping country tune that references genre greats, including Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker and the Dixie Chicks. Not to mention Janis Joplin.

The song is called “Louisiana Hurricane.” Quite fitting since Karen hails from Louisiana.

“I love singing this song live with the band & will have Bri & Dani on stage to celebrate the release in Tennessee on 7/3!” Karen writes on Instagram.

The song releases July 24, but Karen is encouraging everyone to pre-save it now.

The single marks Karen’s first release since finishing fifth on The Voice this spring.

Karen also recently returned to her hometown of Madeville, La. Town leaders proclaimed June 29, 2024, as Karen Waldrup Day in honor of her musical success.

“This year has been an amazing whirlwind, and I’m beyond grateful for the unwavering support from #WaldrupWorldwide and my wonderful hometown,” Karen said in recation.

Karen has been a touring musician for years and has two full albums, including 2023’s “Kendall Country Road” on streaming sites.

She also has lots of 2024 tour dates set, including an Aug. 24 stop in White Marsh, Md.

Here’s a live snippet of her new single.
