Which coach has the strongest team on The Voice?

Well, if we’re going by chair turns in the blind auditions, the answer has to be Adam Levine.

Adam lured six acts who turned all four chairs to his team. His 12 acts, combined, turned 35 chairs during the blind auditions.

Team Blake Shelton also turned 35 chairs during the blind audition. But it has one less member of the four-chair turn club. And not nearly as much diversity.

Here’s a team by team look at The Voice, heading into Monday’s battle round. The link attached to each singer’s name will take you to a “meet the artist” blog. The number is parenthesis is the number of chairs each singer turned during the auditions.

Just remember, chair turns aren’t everything. As recently as Season 7, a contestant won The Voice after turning just two in the blind audition.

Team Adam (35)

I’ve seen the pairings for the battle round and can tell you this: Adam Levine will not pit any of his four-chair turns against one another. And this team has it all. The most highly publicized singer in Jordan Smith. The duo that turned in the biggest iTunes hit of the blind audition in Andi and Alex. County singers in Shelby Brown and James Dupre. Rockers in Manny Cabo, Keith Semple and Amanda Ayala. An R&B belter in Regina Love. Heck, Adam even has a Hungarian pop star. My guess: Lots of Team Adam members who find themselves on the brink of elimination during the battle round will be rescued with saves.

Team Blake (35)

Diversity isn’t the word I’d use to describe Team Blake. I count seven country singers and two more who have more than a little country music in their background or country flavor in their music. And since Blake likes to pit similar singers against one another in the battle round, those other coaches clamoring for country talent on their teams will likely have an opportunity to pick up a singer or two from that genre. Blind Joe turned in one of my favorite blind audition performances. Before the blinds started, I figured Morgan Frazier might be the most talented female country singer on Season 9. Now we’ll have to see how she does against the likes of Emily Ann Roberts and Krista Hughes.

Team Pharrell (26)

On night five of the blind auditions, Pharrell might have done the best job of any coach in terms of strengthening and diversifying his team when he added singer-songwriters Amy Vachal and Sydney Rhame. They were as well-received on iTunes as they were by the coaches. And I can’t wait to see the next performances from Mark Hood and Siahna Im. He’s Mr. Charisma. She’s incredibly poised for a 15-year-old. The team also features two talented pop singers who were montaged during the blind auditions — Riley Biederer and Daria Jazmin.

Team Gwen (22)

In terms of chair turns, this team ranks dead last. In terms of intriguing singers, Team Gwen ranks first in my mind. We have a steamfaerie rocker (Kota Wade) and a 15-year-old who’s been rocking since he was 8 or 9 (Braiden Sunshine). Who isn’t rooting for Korin Bukowski after that touching blind audition? Summer Schappell seems underrated as a country singer. Ellie Lawrence is still in the iTunes Top 200 with her blind audition rendition of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.” And have I mentioned Lyndsey Elm and her clever take on Meghan Trainor’s “Lips Are Movin’.” Don’t count out Team Gwen based on chair turns. That said, they could clearly use some practice in posing for a group photo.
