Wow, in my mind, Voice voters did one heck of a job during the Monday-Tuesday voting window.

They made the perfect choices in advancing Tessanne Chin, Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin to next week’s Voice finals.

And I say that based not only on what those singers did Monday night — which was fabulous in all three cases — but on what they’ve done over the course of Season 5.

Will is the biggest surprise among the finalists. He had to be saved three times to make it this far, losing match-ups with Matthew Schuler and James in the process.

But he’s gained momentum since the live rounds began, and turned in what I thought was his best performance yet Monday night when he covered Fun’s “Carry On.”

As for Tessanne, we knew she was a true talent from the first time she performed. She’s the only contestant remaining who got all four judges to turn their chairs for her blind audition.

But fans have been a bit slow to warm to her. It wasn’t until this week that they rewarded her with a top 10 showing on iTunes for one of her fabulous vocals. Of course, they rewarded her in fabulous fashion. Her “Bridge Over Troubled Water” cover became the first from Season 5 to be sitting atop the iTunes singles chart when voting ended.

Jacquie Lee is the second coming of Danielle Bradbery in the sense that she’s just 16 and a newcomer to the music industry taking on seasoned veterans. With, in my mind, more vocal firepower than we ever got from Danielle.

Christina called Monday’s version of “Angel” her best yet. It might have been her most important, because it showed there’s another side to the kitten who typically turns into a tiger on stage.

I’d say this threesome should deliver one heck of a finale next week.

One of the big story lines tonight on The Voice will be whether Cole Vosbury can sneak into the finals.

If he does, Blake Shelton’s hope of extending his Voice winning streak to four seasons is still alive.

If he doesn’t … the finals will mark a showdown between artists from Team Adam and Team Christina.

Three of the five artists competing this week advance to the finals and, when voting ended this morning, three of the five singers had cracked the Top 10 on iTunes.

None of them were named Cole Vosbury.

Tessanne Chin and Jacquie Lee turned the trick for the first time. Tessanne was still number one on the overall iTunes chart at 7 p.m.

Jacquie Lee’s version of “Angel” landed at number seven on the chart, and Will Champlin just slipped into iTunes bonus points territory at number 10.

That left Cole and James Wolpert as the only singers not in the top 10 and the only contestants not to see their iTunes votes multiplied by five.

As much as I’d like to see the semi-local guy advance, James, from Lancaster, is likely to see his Voice journey end tonight.

He needed a save to survive last week. That and his bottom finish on iTunes doesn’t bode well.

Cole? He’s been putting up impressive iTunes results recently. Yet he remains the only remaining contestant not to crack the top 10 on that chart once this season.

Could it spell his downfall? We’ll find out in about an hour.

And this week there’s no instant save to save anyone.

Meanwhile, we should enjoy some fine musical performances. All three Season 4 finalists — Danielle Bradbery, Michelle Chamuel and The Swon Brothers — will perform tonight. So will Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope.

Cassadee and Danielle, of course, recently released debut country albums. And they’ve turned out to be the most successful releases yet from Voice contestants.

The performances

We start off with a song from The Swon Brothers — “Later On.” If you like this tune, you can download it from iTunes. It went on sale today. Nice performance, guys.

Now it’s Michelle Chamuel’s turn to perform her new single, “Go Down Singing.” This is also available on iTunes, having been released in mid-November. Michelle finished second last season. Honestly — I’m not a big fan of that song.

Next up, Season 3 winner Cassadee with her new single, “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart.” Really like this song. Even more than her first single. Of course, Cassadee is easily my favorite Voice winner to date.

Yet another Voice alumna takes the stage, Danielle Bradbery, singing “Never Like This” from her recently released debut album. Yep, she was just 16 when she won The Voice, the show’s youngest winner to date. Check out “Daughter of a Working Man” from her album.

James Wolpert (Team Adam) is eliminated. Well, the guy from Lancaster certainly gave it one heck of a run, didn’t he.

Tessanne Chin (Team Adam) makes the finals on The Voice. Well deserved. In my mind, she’s been the best singer on the show this season.

Jacquie Lee (Team Christina) makes the finals. Wow, we could have back to back teen winners on The Voice. Jacquie, too, really deserved that.

Will Champlin (Team Adam) makes the finals. So, the top three finishers on iTunes were also the three to advance.

Cole Vosbury (Team Blake) heads home, meaning Blake’s streak of consecutive Voice champions ends at three.
