Will Team Blake Shelton dominate again on The Voice?

So, will tonight bring a Team Blake Shelton avalanche of the type we’ve seen the past two weeks on The Voice?

I think it’s already fair to say Team Blake will be well represented when the show hosts its semifinals next Monday night.

Eight contestants cracked the Top 200 on iTunes by the time voting ending at 7 a.m. eastern time.

Four of those eight were from Team Blake, and my guess is that Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts and Carter Lloyd Horne are locks to make the Top 8 based on fan voting.

Andy Sevener could squeeze in as well or, in a worst case scenario, wind up singing for tonight’s instant save, in which case I like his odds of advancing too.

Who else is likely to survive tonight?

Team Legend should be fine. Maelyn Jarmon and Shawn Sounds — quite deservedly — were two of the Top 3 finishers on iTunes.

Team Kelly’s hopes likely rest with former Team Blake member Rod Stokes, which is something of a surprise for a team that once looked strong because of the presence of Jej Vinson and Matthew Johnson — both four-chair turns — and young pop singer Presley Tennant.

Team Adam could be in jeopardy. And should be if his hopes hinge on L.B. Crew, who a) was not very good last night and b) would not still be singing on the show without the silly Comeback Stage twist. Adam’s other artist, Mari, did better Monday, but failed to crack the Top 200 on iTunes.

Last week, that chart was a good indicator, but not a perfect predictor, of what would have. Jacob Maxwell cracked the Top 200 with his “Total Eclipse of the Heart” cover, but failed to advance.

The top seven vote-getters automatically move on tonight. The bottom three are automatically eliminated. The three in between will sing for an instant save.

And it’s time for result.

Advancing to the Season 16 semifinals are …

1. Maelyn Jarmon (Team Legend) — No surprise there, she’s the first singer this year to crack the Top 10 on iTunes.
2. Dexter Roberts (Team Blake) — That’s not a surprise either. He has a large fan base from his days on Idol, and that’s essential on such an abbreviated season of The Voice.
3. Gyth Rigdon (Team Blake) — Carson is starting with the most obvious artists to advance. Gyth led on iTunes last week and was near the top this week.
4. Rod Stokes (Team Kelly) — That ensures that at least three teams will be repesented in the semifinals. A great song choice worked out well for Rod.
5. Shawn Sounds (Team Legend) — He’s been excellent the last two weeks, so that was a great selection by fans.
6. Carter Lloyd Horne (Team Blake) — He’s the youngest singer left on the show, and now he’s one step from the finals.
7. Andrew Sevener (Team Blake): And I expected Andrew might make it a Team Blake country trio. He just did. That’s four Team Blake members voted through.

Singing for the instant save:
L.B Crew (Team Adam)
Mari Jones (Team Adam)
Kim Cherry (Team Blake)

That means the three singers automatically eliminated are
Celia Babini (Team Legend)
Jej Vinson (Team Kelly
Oliv Blu (Team Blake)

And advancing following the Instant Save
Kim Cherry (Team Blake)

That gives Team Blake five artists in the Top 8 and means the end of Team Adam for Season 16.
